The Lindsay Madew Unit is a 25 bed acute mental health
in-patient unit. Patients are referred by the Acute Care Team, General Practitioners, Self or
the Police. We offer an after-hours telephone service. We provide in-patient care for people who live in the Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai shires and other persons who need care.
 Who are we?
The multi-disciplinary team of Lindsay Madew Unit is made up of psychiatrists,
psychiatric registrars, registered nurses, enrolled nurses, occupational therapist, social worker
and clinical psychologist. The unit provides educational placements for these disciplines.
What do we do?
The unit provides a variety of treatments. Assessment and treatment of the presenting
symptoms, psycho-social interventions, counselling, medication, therapeutic activity
groups and electro convulsive therapy.
