The Residential Support Service is
committed to providing a high quality residential and recovery service to people with mental illness in a
community setting. Our aim is to provide clients with a mental illness the
necessary skills to return to and live independently in the community.
Who are we?
The Residential Support Service is part of the Hornsby Community Mental Health Services.
We are a multi disciplinary team consisting of nurses, occupational therapists and pschologist.
What do we do?
Our aim is to assist clients, with a mental illness, return to independent living in the
community. The service works within the psychosocial and recovery models of rehabilitation in the
community. Clients are housed in group homes or home units.
How you can access our service
The service is available to those people with a mental illness that require rehabilitation, with
their living skills, in a group home setting, and are within the Northern Area Health Services area.
Referral to the service is generally through the proposed client’s case manager or a referring hospital. Information concerning referrals can be obtained by contacting the Accommodation Officer (9483 7963) for the service.
We are not however a service for those only needing accommodation.

What are our hours?
The service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Enquiries with the service are available 9am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
