The Employee Assistance Program (staff Counselling Service) provides a free and confidential counselling
service to all staff of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service.

What do we do?
The Employee Assistance Program (staff Counselling Service) provides a free and confidential short term Counselling
service to all staff volunteers of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service. Staff are welcome to consult the
counsellor about both work and non-work related matters. The counsellor is also available to managers to discuss their concerns about staffing or team issues.
The employee assistance counsellor also provides follow up for staff involved in adverse incidents. In some circumstances immediate family of staff can access the service.
How you can access our service
You are able to make contact with the Employee Assistance Counsellor either by telephone
(confidential Voicemail available 24 hours) or by visiting the office.
Appointments are offered as soon as practicable, usually within a week of your call.
Staff are welcome to make an appointment to see a counsellor at Hornsby or at any NSCCH site. The Employee Assistance Counsellor is on site
at HKH on Tuesday and Wednesday between 8.30am - 5.00pm. For assistance outside these hours please call 9926 7114.

We are at 113 Burdett Street, near the Staff Cafeteria and next door to the General Practice Training Unit.

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. No information discussed with staff is
recorded in hospital files, and no information is released without your written permission.
The only limits to confidentiality are as for all Department of Health Employees. There is a brochure available for the service.
