Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service provides a range of services to the local government areas of Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai. The services at Brooklyn Community Health Centre are targeted to the local community and designed to improve or maintain the health of the community.

What do we do?

The health services available at Brooklyn Community Health Centre are targeted to the local community and designed to improve or maintain the health of the community. Services fall into three main categories: clinical services, support services and activities for older people.


Clinical services

  • GP Training Unit: This service provides a range of medical services and procedures to the people of Brooklyn, from consultations to smaller medical procedures. For more information or appointments phone 9985 7717.


  • Physiotherapy: Available by appointment for assessment and treatment of disorders in human movement, injury, or disease. Referral from a doctor or another physiotherapist is required. A waiting list applies. For an appointment phone 9985 7717.


  • Podiatry: This service is restricted to persons holding a full pensioner card with full medical entitlement card. Specific medical conditions apply and a referral from your doctor is required.

  • Child and Family Health Service: For support and information on any parenting issue for children up to 5 years of age, or for an appointment time, contact Berowra Early Childhood Health Centre on 9456 2877.

Support services

  • Pharmacy Service: Due to a chemist service not being available at Brooklyn, a Pharmacy Service is organised by the Community Health Centre. For more information phone 9985 7717.


  • Meals on Wheels: A Meals on Wheels service is available from the Brooklyn Community Health Centre, either by home delivery on Thursdays, or picked up from the Centre. For more information phone 9985 7717



Activites for older people

  • Centre Based Meals: This is held the second Wednesday of each month, when a group of aged persons meet for a meal and interaction with other people. A small fee applies. For more information phone 9985 7717.

  • · Uniting Care provide a social support/activity group for older people on Tuesdays between….. Please contact ??? for further information.

Brooklyn Volunteer Helpers are a group of community minded people who assist at the centre in various ways. Areas of involvement are:

  • Transport
  • Frail Aged Support
  • Centre Based Meals
