Visitor lounges located in our wards offer a quiet environment for carers, visitors and family

- when the patient requires some privacy

- when the carer needs a break from the bedside
|

- sometimes for family interview / counsel
|
| |
- and as a convenient source of supportive information
|
In collaboration with the respective NUM, Carer Support is resourcing Visitor/Carer lounges across the Central Coast Sector with carer-focused wall posters, flyers, brochures, and key contact information to inform Carers of available services and supports.
On display are copies of free Carer kits, emergency kits, and books ( eg The Carer Experience- an Essential Guide for Carers of People with Dementia) with contact phone numbers to obtain a copy.
Take home copies of Carers NSW fact sheets encouraging Carers to be aware of their own health needs are provided , along with flyers for any relevant upcoming events or educational opportunities for Carers.
Carer Support maintains the supply of the resources on a regular basis.
